The latest Mazda 3 is proving to be as popular as previous models, and Mazda has had the wisdom to enhance the features that have been praised in past models. The new elongated exterior, which improves the aerodynamics of the car, has been favorably received, but the front grill has been described as “goofy” and “grinning” in some reviews.

Part of the Mazda 3′s appeal has been its extreme sportiness and all-round fun driving experience, and Mazda has been able to retain the performance and handling that enthusiasts have come to expect. Upmarket amenities have been included in the 2010 model, like Bluetooth and heated front seats. There is an optional navigation system, which some reviewers noted was too small to be effective. Available in a four-door model and a five-door hatch, the 2010 Mazda 3 comes in a narrower range of colors than previous models. It has a three year/36, 000 mile warranty with a transferable powertrain warranty for five years/60, 000 miles.

The 2010 Mazda 3 is powered by either the base 2. 0 liter engine, with 148 horsepower and 135 pound/foot of torque, or a new 2. 5 liter engine with 167 horsepower and 168 pound/foot of torque. It features a new six speed manual transmission or the five speed automatic which has a manual shift mode. Fuel economy is expected to at least match the previous model of around 22/30 mpg.

Those who have rated the Mazda 3 on performance claim that the enhancements to the body seem to work well with the mechanics of the car. The steering is direct and responsive, the braking is sharp, the suspension is fine tuned and the engine has enough power to drive the weight of the vehicle with ease. Some claim that the new model drives better than the already good previous model. None of the 3′s reputation for aggressive performance has been lost in the redesign.

Safety is an important consideration these days, and again the Mazda 3 comes up trumps, scoring 5 stars for front end collisions for both driver and passenger, and on side impacts, 5 stars for driver and 4 stars for passenger. It received a 4 star roll-over rating. This has been achieved with two front and side air bags and side curtain air bags. It features an anti-lock braking system and brake assist as standard.

Leases typically last for two four years, with leases on high-end vehicles and luxury cars sometimes stretching up to five years. Convertibles, sedans and the like fall under body style and finance by class and has the likes of luxury automobiles, sports cars and so on. High-end vehicles tend to have higher insurance rates because of the higher premium you pay for them. Anybody with a decent credit score can buy a Mercedes, but can you afford the payment? Most students nowadays do not arrive at campus in BMW sports cars and credit cards to boot. Sports cars are also a victim of a high insurance premium, but not as much as a $150,000 BMW. Small, affordable sports cars from companies such as Toyota, Mazda & Mitsubishi are getting very popular because of their “bang for the buck”. Meaning they are cheaper than almost any exotic car you can find, and they probably boast more features, a longer warranty, cheaper parts and maintenance, more engine power and a comparably smooth ride. It doesn’t take $100,000 to buy a good sports car. Hell, you could go buy a 93 Toyota Supra for around 17K and have 327HP right out of the box, thats 27HP more than a $70,000 Porsche Carrera boasts and with the potential of making 1000HP without breaking a sweat, well that just makes everything else look like garbage.

Small / Passenger Cars

Most small vehicles come with CD players as standard, but the sound quality that can be obtained from the CD player will be quite poor. There are some great small cars that are very fuel efficient, even a hybrid car that is good for the environment too. Because the term “diecast” refers to any product produced using the casting method, the first models on the market were small cars or vans without plastic windows. That doesn’t take away from the quality of a small car, most companies now have a wide range of smaller cars now that the price of gas has ballooned. Making cars smaller reduces tax for people who use public transport, giving us an incentive for walking or cycling. Compare this to one of the most efficient small cars around, the Polo 1. There are pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, small cars, minivans, buses, lorries and trailers. All of these are available for a relatively cheap price, and they are cheap on insurance and gas.

Exotic Cars

You can buy exotic cars from Jaguar, Volvo, Range Rover and Ferrari. From exotic cars to exotic houses, chose something that gets your blood moving. Maybe a second lottery win allows you to purchase more items like a few more exotic cars. Ferrari’s are usually a person’s drug of choice, then comes the Porsche or the Lamborghini. These cars are well above a normal persons means, they can cost anywhere from $100,000 up to 1.5 Million dollars, such as the Bugatti Veyron is currently sporting as a price tag.

Whatever car you choose to purchase, make sure that it is something you feel comfortable in. Don’t buy something that looks cool, but you hate being in because you are a big or small person. Get the “this feels right” feeling before you make a purchase.

In the front, the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 takes on styling cues from the upcoming 2010 Mazda 3 with a smooth, sleek front end but adds one significant difference: a huge hood scoop. Unlike the previous Mazdaspeed 3, the new generation will introduce more air through a hood scoop which will likely cool off a larger, more powerful turbocharged motor. Before getting into rumored motors, the remainder of the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 exterior includes flared out wheel arches similar to the RX-8, more aggressive side skirts and a redesigned rear bumper that includes sculpted openings for a new dual exhaust system.

As of this writing Mazda hasn’t confirmed what motor will be used in the new Mazdaspeed 3 but rumor has it the new ‘Speed will either use the 2.5 liter four cylinder from the next generation Mazda 3 (plus a turbo) or a Volvo sourced T5 (turbo five cylinder) producing around 300 horsepower. One popular online car site predicted the current 2.3 liter four cylinder in the Mazdaspeed 3 will be carried over into the next generation at the same power output. We question the logic behind why Mazda would bother adding a large hood scoop to the new Mazdaspeed 3 if they aren’t going to use an engine more powerful than the current iteraiton.

There is much concern over the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3′s ability to manage a three hundred horsepower engine while maintaining its front wheel drive only configuration. It’s widely expected that Mazda will either offer all wheel drive standard or take advantage of Ford’s new RevoKnuckle FWD suspension system that reduces torque steer and allows automakers to put more power to the front wheels. If the RevoKnuckle FWD system is in fact a possibility then it conflicts with rumors that claim the upcoming Mazdaspeed 3 will not have a limited slip differential.

Inside, the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 will see many of the same new interior design elements as the 2010 Mazda 3 including a two tier dashboard with information and radio data display screen residing above a newly contoured center dash panel. Below the radio controls are three large, recessed radio dials that control fan speed, heat and air conditioning outlets and temperature.

The next Mazdaspeed 3 is most likely going to continue on as a hatchback only model and we still await official word from Mazda on what interior options they plan to carry over from the more mainstream Mazda 3 model. Based on spy shots of the Mazdaspeed 3, it appears that Mazda will continue their plan to not include a sunroof on Mazdaspeed 3s in order to improve aerodynamics. Mazda has also reshaped the rear spoiler on the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 prototype which will increase downforce and improve the driving experience at higher speeds.
