Maisto model cars are considered to be some of the very best on the market today. The method to their appeal is two-fold: First, their replica models are absolutely perfect, and some of the most highly detailed models in production. Second, their toy cars are really imaginative and a lot of fun, even for adults.

Maisto model cars employs fewer than fifty people, total. This includes everyone who models the cars, the guys who go out and photograph the new models for reference, the upper management, and even the people who answer the phones. All of the design is handled in house by a small team of artists.

We point this out as an example of the integrity of the company. Maisto aren’t out to make a quick buck on chintzy products, or else they’d be willing to hire any halfway decent car modeler who walks into their office. Rather, Maisto is only looking to hire the best of the best, passionate gearheads with a real love for cars and an almost unhealthy obsession with attention to detail.

This hiring practice pays off. When you look at a 1:24 scale model from Maisto Model Cars, you’ll be able to count every screw and built on the body. Take a picture of a Maisto model, hold it up to a picture of the real deal, and nine times out of ten, you won’t be able to tell the difference.

Maisto produces snap together kits, diecast models and high skill level model kits. If you really want the best detail, we recommend the high skill level kits. They take awhile to put together, but you really get an appreciation of what goes into these kits when you put them together yourself.

Those toy model cars we referenced earlier, on the other hand, don’t really look anything like any real car on the market today. With the flip of a switch via remote control, their RC cars will transform into robots and launch foam darts at one another. In other words, these are the RC cars we wish we had to play with as kids.

These toy cars actually provide a lot of the income for the company, allowing them to take more risks in their scale modeling. For example, a perfect scale model of a Studebaker might not be the best selling item on the market, but because Maisto is also a toy company, they can afford to release other products that only a small handful of diehard gearheads will really appreciate.

Nearly everyone has played with diecast vehicles when they were a young child. Wh?n I went to grade school my friends and I collected ‘ Hot Wheels ‘ cars. W? would make r??? tracks and construction zones in the dirt piles out back of our school and play with the vehicles at recess time. I remember having a holder that looked like a suitcase only smaller, it would open and inside I had probably 20 different vehicles, ranging from cars, to trucks and a few other things. W? would play in the dirt with our diecast vehicles, racing th?m, or pretending we were construction crews, and we would dig tunnels in the dirt, and make hills and bridges to push are little cars and trucks around ?n. Probably most folks like myself lost or threw away them diecast vehicles we had as young children, or they got lost like all of the other toys we had when we were young. S?m? folks saved th?r?’s and now days some of them are probably quite rare and valuable to diecast collectors.

It seems that when I was a young boy, we only heard of ‘ Hot Wheels ‘, at ????t that is the brand that my friends and I b???ht, collected and played w?th. Now days there are tons of different companies and they make diecast vehicles of every kind, there are cars, airplanes, construction vehicles, boats, military vehicles, and more. Wh?n first starting to collect diecast vehicles, you m??t ?h???? which types you really want because there are a lot of choices, you can collect a ??rt??n make and model of car, such as a Chevrolet Nova, or you m?? wish to just collect yellow diecast construction vehicles, or military vehicles, the ?h???? is up to ???.

Diecast vehicles are pretty inexpensive for a lot of the new ones in stores and for some of the older ones that are common. Y?? can ?ft?n find them in the local drugstore or any Kmart or Walmart, and even a lot of grocery stores have a rack or area where you can find diecast vehicles, they ?ft?n sell new for under $3.00 each, and sometimes you can find them in a bargain bin or on sale for ‘ 2 for $2.00 ‘, or even less.

Probably one of the best places to find a rare or missing diecast vehicle for your collection is on eBay. Another f?nt??t?? place to ?ft?n find rare and unique diecast vehicles at very low prices is yard sales. I went to a few yard sales, last summer with my daughter and I saw a lot of diecast vehicles, and many were 25 cents each and some were less. If you look you can usually find a pile or box of assorted toys at a yard sale, these ?ft?n have numerous plastic soldiers, trucks and cars, and some old non-clothed dolls, and if you dig or search through these piles or boxes of old junk toys, you can ?ft?n find diecast vehicles at the bottom. Th? diecast vehicles are smaller and heavier then the plastic toys, so they tend to drop down to the bottom of the piles like gold nuggets in a stream.

Back around 9 years ago when I was still married, my wife and I b???ht one of them cheap metal detectors, the ones you can get at discount stores for around $50 or ??. W? went outside and in our yard where we lived at that time, we found 7 old diecast vehicles. Once we took them inside and cleaned them up, they were all in f?nt??t?? condition, despite being buried for a few years. Th? vehicles were all made by ‘ TOOTSIE ‘, I looked on ebay at the time and learned that the vehicles were worth around $15 or more, so if you have a metal detector, you can probably find some nice diecast vehicles for free, by searching yards and old school grounds.

Once you ?t?rt building up your diecast vehicle collection, you should consider getting a ?h?w case to ?h?w it ?ff. If you have some talent and a few tools, you can easily build a ?h?w case in your garage or workshop, or if you look on ebay they always have a large amount of diecast vehicle ?h?w cases.

Collecting anything in the past sometimes proved to be difficult since the local shops would only carry a limited amount of collectibles. Nowadays, it’s pretty easy to find anything you’re looking for through the internet – even for those rare diecast collectibles. People’s collections are growing bigger and faster now that many diecast shops are on-line selling the typical and the rare diecasts.

Although, it’s easier to find stuff thanks to internet search engines, there are still some collectibles that can be tough to find. So how are some ways you can find these rarities beside just typing them in the search bar? Here are some ideas that you can try to get connected with the collectible you’ve been searching for.

Look for a diecast collectibles on-line shop and find their contact information. You could contact them to see if they have any idea where to find what you want. Chances are they know a supplier or another collector who has the item. If you’re looking for a various of specific rare items, go to a shop that carries them all such as Ed’s Collectibles where they would know about each different diecast than just one specialty.

You can also check out internet forums about diecast collectibles and ask on-line users if they are selling or if they know who has the item you want. You can find these forums by searching it in the search engines or asking other collectors who might know. If you’re having a hard time finding what you’re looking for, don’t give up. Someone has got to have it.

You can always try flea markets and auctions to look for diecast collectibles as well. You may also be able to special order it through someone who has connections. Sometimes you will come across exactly what you are looking for in an on-line shop, but a price isn’t listed. Don’t worry, just contact them and say that you are interested and would like to know what the price is. If the price is out of your range, then you can try negotiating it. Just be sure to stay civil and polite and things will fall your way. Persistence is key to getting what you want and finding that rare diecast collectible you’ve been dreaming of owning.

Your diecast collectibles are treasured items and you’ll want to make sure to take good care of them. If you don’t use careful precautions when displaying them, you could risk diminishing the value of your rare diecast collectibles. Instead of just placing them in a bookcase where dust can collect and kids can get a hold of them, there are other ways you can display them while keeping them safe.

The best way to preserve your expensive investment is to buy a cabinet with glass doors that are sealed tight. This will help prevent any dust and other filth from making their way onto your collectibles and will also keep kids’ hands off of them, but still be able to admire the collection. You might find a cabinet that matches the décor of your home and you’re enticed to buy it, although it might not have very good sealed doors. You could still buy it, but add strip foam around the edges of the doors to add a tighter seal.

You may not be able to afford a nice cabinet or just prefer to keep your bookcase. If this is the case, you could buy some plexi glass from a hardware store to screw onto the bookshelf. This is a solution to preserve your collectibles in an inexpensive way. You would just have to unscrew the plexi glass to take them out or add more to the collection.

Diecast collectibles are treasure items and should be treated so. If you’re just keeping your collectibles hidden away in their boxes in storage, then you’re not enjoying the hobby and not sharing it with others. Make the most out of your collection and put it on display for your family and friends to see and admire. Chances are you will spark the interest in them and will have new people to talk about collectibles with.

It can be fun to collect diecast models with others instead of only yourself. If you want to share them with your kids as they get older, then it’s best to protect them well when you have them on display. That way they will still be preserved years later when you can pass them down to your kids and grandkids. If you’re not too keen on passing down your items as time goes by, you might consider reselling them in the future. In either case, you will need to keep good care of your diecast collectibles by taking proper measures in preserving and displaying them.

The hobby that so many enjoy began as part of the toy industry in England in the U.S. in the early 1900s. Nowadays, the hobby has spread throughout the entire world with thousands of adults and children enjoying these diecast collectible toys. The first diecast models where simple with a painted metal body with no interior décor. Today, many diecast collectibles are built to the exact scale with every detail etched on.

Since the original diecast models were made of low-quality metals, they didn’t last very long and eventually deteriorated over time. Since many of them didn’t survive, these are very rare collectibles and are hardly found in anyone’s collections. The toy industry soon found that these items were doing really well and started producing more with higher-quality items.

The factories started producing every kind of transportation into diecast models such as trains, cars, trucks, airplanes, farm equipment, race cars and construction equipment. The demand for these collectibles continued to grow in the early 1900s and more quality was in place as well as more attention to details.

In the 1950s and 60s, Dinky Toys became very popular with their 1/43 scale of miniature vehicles used with model train layout sets. They were in high demand although their detail wasn’t extremely impressive compared to the past. Although they had their wave of popularity, they eventually died out from the competition of Mattel Hot Wheels. Today, Dinky Toys are in high demand again with many scarce models going for high prices.

Other popular diecast models at the time included the Corgi line produced by Mettoy. They were successful because they started doing detailed work on the interior of the model cars. They were a huge hit with collectors because of their look and finish. In the 1960s, Mattel introduced the Red Line Hot Wheels models which feature a red line around the side of the tires on all their 16 models. These are known as the “Sweet Sixteen” and are in high demand. Hot Wheels continues to be a popular car collectible among the young and old.

Today, there are hundreds of different manufacturers everywhere who are making a wide array of diecast collectibles. Detail and high-quality material are important matters that each manufacturer takes into consideration when making new models. The diecast collectible industry is still thriving and continues to be enjoyed by many people all over the world.

Some people not only do it as a hobby, but also for profit-making purposes. If you’re looking into collecting as well as reselling your items, you might be wondering which ones are the best to collect to make a profit in the end. Those who like diecast collectibles so much tend to want to share it with others, so what’s the best way of going about it?

When selling diecast collectibles you need to know what pieces you should buy and then strategize purchasing and reselling to make a profit. You’ll want to collect items that you really like and look around at several shops to find the best buy. It’s good to buy items that you like the best because chances are that other collectors will like the same things. Market trends are always changing, but if you see an item that you personally want to collect, then it will most likely stay stable if others are into the same kind of thing you are.

If you want to make a profit reselling your collectibles, you’ll want to avoid specializing in just one area. Branch out and find the best items for all diecast collectibles such as trains, cars, planes, trucks and other transportation models. Make sure your collection is diverse if you want to sell it. You could just stick to one type of model or brand, but your chances of having interested buyers will go down if your collection isn’t diverse to entice a wide range of customers. Although you might not see something that valuable right now, it could increase in value as time goes on.

You should also collect items from all time eras and not limit yourself to just one. You might not be into the old relic type of diecasts, but there are many collectors who are. If you come across a good buy for an older diecast, you should buy it and resell it later at a higher price to an interested buyer. There are many people who like these types to complete their collections or for nostalgic motives.

Where can you find good deals for diecast collectibles to resell? Well, there are many deals found in flea markets, on-line shops, auction sites, Craigslist and eBay. This also helps you find places where you can sell your own collection. A popular way to sell collectibles is in an auction site like eBay where you can set a starting price and see the bids increase. Sometimes it will go for a higher price than expected. You can also set a reserve price so if no one bids high enough, then you don’t need to sell it. That way you’re guaranteed to not make a loss off a sale. Remember to always appreciate the hobby and spread to others as you continue to do your business transactions.

Die Ludolfs, a funny look at a not-so-typical family business. With over four million spare parts-and no computers-chaos is the name of the game. Add the dynamics of a multi-generation family business and you’ve got one of the biggest hits on German television. Naturally a business like this acquires a variety of interesting vehicles. But die Ludolfs add their own distinctive touches, applying distinctive paint and decorations to every one.

This is accurate replica of a post-war delivery truck in the funky colors of Die Ludolfs. Extreme detailing including authentic paint scheme (including simulated rust patches), old Christmas tree cargo, plus working doors, simple interior includes steering wheel and bench seat, diecast metal construction with plastic detail parts. Includes clear display case and base.

Schuco is a legendary German toy manufacturer, founded in 1912. The company achieved worldwide fame with its toy cars manufactured in the ’30s, ’40s and ’50s, many of which were patented. While Schuco continues to issue a limited number of metal retro-toys for collectors, today the company is better known for its amazing diecast vehicle replicas. Working directly with manufacturers and car collectors, Schuco painstakingly re-creates each vehicle in miniature, often incorporating tiny details only visible with a magnifying glass. Most Schuco models are issued in specified limited quantities, and once gone, will not be made again. That’s why wise collectors know that a Schuco model isn’t just a purchase: It’s an investment with a lifetime return of enjoyment.
